Upon arrival at Beijing airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day for your free relax, or explore the city.
After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Then visit the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. Today's tour will end with a rickshaw ride at Beijing Hutongs.
Note: a rickshaw ride of about 30 minutes is good, and Hutong tour lasts 1-2 hours. By the way, you can enjoy a local meal at the restaurant there as a choice for yourselves.
After breakfast, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the Mutianyu Great Wall. On the way to Mutianyu, you will stop at a Jade Museum to learn the history of Jade. Option for your dinner: Beijing Duck at Quanjude or Pianyifang Restaurant.
After a morning walk a walk along Lake Kunming in Summer Palace. You will be transfered to Beijing railway station to take the high-speed train to Datong. Upon arrival, check into hotel.
After breakfast, we will drive to the west of the city for the amazing Yungang Grottoes. This Buddhist site is excellent examples of stone carving architecture, composed of 252 grottoes with more than 51,000 Buddha statues and statuettes.
In the afternoon, we drive back to Datong city downtown to see the Nine Dragon Wall and Huayan Temple. The Nine Dragon Wall is a screen wall with night lifestyle dragons made by glazed tiles. It was built in Ming dynasty and it is much bigger than that in Beijing Park Beijing. Huayan Temple is largest and best preserved monastery of the Liao Dynasty in existence in China; the temple was originally built as ancestral temple of the imperial family, offering sacrifices for emperors of the Liao Dynasty.
After Breakfast, we will take a morning drive () to the Hanging Monastery, which is located at the foot of Mt.Heng. The temple is an amazing site, constructed over 1,500 years ago and was enchased in the cliff of the mountain. The whole temple is about 50 meters above the ground, and supported by about 40 pillars which stay firmly in the past 1,500 years.
After a vsit to hanging Monastery, we will proceed to Yingxian Wooden Pagoda which is the oldest and tallest wooden pagoda in China. It has escaped from many natural disasters and maintain in original condition after 1056, the year of being built.
At last, you will take a bullet train to Taiyuan.
After breakfast, we drive to ancient royal garden Jinci Temple, which is famous for the frescoes. Continue to Qiao Family Compound – the typical residence of rich Jin Businessman, which is built in in 1756 in the Qing Dynasty. The Qiao Compound gained its renown not only for its large scale but also for the exquisite craftsmanship reflected in the brick carving, woodcarving and murals.
Proceed to Pingyao Ancient City from Qiao Family Compound and have free time in the old down.
After breakfast, you will start a full day Pingyao tour to visit Shuanglin Temple outside old town Pingyao and admire the beautiful colorful figures inside the temple. Drive back to Pingyao and have walk on the Ancient City Wall, the Rishengchang Exchange Shop and the Ming and Qing Street.
Welcome to Henan! Upon arrival in Zhengzhou, your local guide will meet you and escort you with a comfortable private car to check in the hotel.
After breakfast, you will drive less than 1 hour to Kaifeng to visit Qingming Shanghe Garden is a large-scale cultural theme park, a replica from original landscape painting - Qingming Shanghetu. The park recreated an ancient capital scene of the Song Dynasty and became a site of China's intangible cultural heritage. After a visit to Xiangguo Temple, you will go back to Zhengzhou for overnight.
Take a morning drive less than 2 hours from Zhengzhou to famous Shaolin Temple – the birth place of Shaolin Kungfu, situated in Songshan Mountain in Dengfeng city. In this UNESCO world Heritage site, you can watch the live Kungfu performance by monks and admire the impressive buildings inside mountains. Drive ahead to Luoyang in the late afternoon.
After breakfast, we will drive to the Longmen Grottoes to see the dedicated carved Buddhist sculptures along the both banks of Yi River. There are 2,345 caves with 2,680 statues, over 70 stupas and 2,680 inscribed stone tablets, some of them could be dated back to 493 AD.
Another 30 minute's drive will proceed to White Horse Temple, which is said to be the first Buddhist temple of China. Its name was from the white horses that carried the Buddhist scriptures and statues brought back from India after Buddhism was first introduced to China along the ancient Silk Road. A full day Luoyang city tour will end with a visit to Luoyang Museum for the wide range collections of relics, including pottery, painting and so on.
If you travel to Luoyang from April 5 to May 5, you can enjoy Luoyang Peony Cultural Festival with a series of activities and peony blooming all around the downtown of Luoyang city. The festival was originated from (Mudan Hua Hui) Traditional Peony Party since the Tang Dynasty. After breakfast, enjoy the festival until you will be transfered to the airport or train station for your next destination.
