Located 35 km northwest of Yinchuan, Ningxia, China West Film Studio(Zhenbeipu West Film Art Center)  was built in 1993 by writer Zhang Xianliang on the ruins of Ming and Qing dynasty border fortresses. Now it's a top 5A-level scenic spot, famed as the "Oriental Hollywood".

Renowned for its rustic, desolate, and primitive northwest charm, it's one of China's three major film studios. Over 200 films and TV dramas have been shot here, including Red Sorghum, A Chinese Odyssey and The Herdsman, earning it the title "Where Chinese Film Goes Global".Divided into Ming City, Qing City and Old Yinchuan Street, it preserves over 200 iconic filming sites. Visitors can dress in costumes and experience the magic of cinema, enjoying the unique blend of history, culture and wilderness.
