Located on Dongguan Street in downtown Xining, Dongguan Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in Qinghai and one of the four great mosques in Northwest China. Founded in the early Ming Dynasty (c.1380), it boasts over 600 years of history. Rebuilt in 1913 and expanded later, it now covers 13,602 ㎡.

A stunning blend of Chinese palace-style and Islamic architecture, it features a grand five-arched gateway, two towering minarets, and a green dome. The main prayer hall, modeled after an imperial palace, can hold 3,000 worshippers. The complex also integrates subtle Tibetan Buddhist elements, symbolizing religious harmony. As a key cultural relic and a vibrant spiritual center, it hosts one of the world's largest Muslim gatherings during Ramadan, embodying Xining's rich multicultural heritage.
