Located on the south bank of the Yellow River along Lanzhou's Riverside Scenic Line, Lanzhou Waterwheel Expo Garden is a national 4A tourist attraction. Completed in 2005, it is a thematic park dedicated to inheriting and displaying ancient waterwheel culture.

Composed of Waterwheel Garden, Waterwheel Square and Cultural Square, it features rows of huge wooden waterwheels over 15 meters in diameter. Invented in the Ming Dynasty, these traditional irrigation tools are national intangible cultural heritage, embodying ancient people's wisdom of utilizing the Yellow River water.

With rolling waterwheels, pleasant riverside scenery and cultural sculptures, the garden perfectly interprets Lanzhou's reputation as the "City of Waterwheels". It is a classic landmark blending Yellow River civilization, ancient water conservancy technology and local folk customs.
