Wusute(Ursuit) Water Yardan National Geological Park, located in the heart of the Qaidam Basin in Qinghai, is the world's only large-scale water-based yardang landscape, hailed as a"geological wonder on the Gobi". Formed over millions of years by wind and water erosion, these yardangs (10–50m tall) were submerged in 2007 when Kunlun Mountain floodwaters diverted into Yahu Lake.

Vivid turquoise and emerald waters surround golden, oddly-shaped rock formations, creating a surreal"floating fortress" scene.Known as"Thousand Birds Lake", it attracts flocks of wild ducks and water birds in spring and autumn. At sunrise and sunset, the glowing sky reflects on the calm lake, blending rugged desert charm with serene aquatic beauty—an otherworldly highlight on the Qinghai-Gansu loop.
