The Xi'an Incident, (Dec. 12–25, 1936), in Chinese history, seizure of the Nationalist generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek (Jiang Jieshi) by two of his own generals, Zhang Xueliang (Chang Hsueh-liang) and Yang Hucheng (Yang Hu-cheng).

The Xi'an Incident Memorial Hall in Xi'an commemorates the pivotal historical event in 1936. It consists of former residences and exhibition halls, preserving authentic sites where the great change took place.

Inside, abundant historical photos, documents and relics are displayed, fully recounting the whole process of the Xi'an Incident. This event greatly promoted national unity against foreign aggression and turned a new page in modern Chinese history.
