Located in Lingwu, Yinchuan, Shuidonggou Great Wall Ruins Museum are the best-preserved section of the Ming Great Wall in Ningxia, marking the border between Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. Built during the Chenghua–Jiajing periods of the Ming Dynasty (1474 onward), it served as a key defense against northern nomadic tribes.

Stretching about 34 km, it features a complete military system: rammed-earth walls, watchtowers, beacon towers, and the unique Hidden Soldier Caves—an intricate underground complex for troops and supplies. Known as a"museum of ancient defense works," it vividly shows medieval Chinese military wisdom.Walking here, you can stand with one foot in Ningxia and the other in Inner Mongolia, experiencing the grandeur of frontier history and the blending of farming and nomadic cultures.
