The Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Center is a unique private museum, a hidden gem full of insanely cool propaganda posters from the late 1900s and early 2000s. It is dedicated to preserving and showcasing an extensive collection of propaganda posters from the Maoist era, particularly from the 1950s to the 1970s, including the Cultural Revolution period. Founded by Yang Pei Ming, who began collecting these posters in 1995 as a hobby, the museum aims to document modern Chinese history through this striking art form.  

Originally housed in the basement of an apartment building in the former French Concession, it relocated in 2019 to an office building on Yan'an West Road. The collection features thousands of rare posters that reflect the political and social climate of their time, serving as both historical artifacts and artistic works. With English descriptions accompanying the displays, the museum offers an educational glimpse into China's past, has a small gift shop inside selling intact original copies and memorabilia posters as showed on the Little Red Book.
