Learn about the 20,000 Jewish refugees who escaped Nazi Europe and settled in Shanghai from 1933 to 1945 during World War II. The Shanghai Jewish Refugee Museum started out as a small exhibition in the Ohel Moshe Synagogue which was built in 1927 and is one of only two remaining of the four that Shanghai. It is a real hidden gem located in the city's former Jewish Ghetto, in the Hongkou District of Shanghai.
