The Shanghai History Museum, also as Shanghai Revolution Museum, is a prominent institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of Shanghai, China. 

Located in the former Shanghai Race Club building on West Nanjing Road, a historic landmark in the city heart, the museum can be traced back to the Shanghai Museum of History and Construction in the 1950s. In 1983, the Shanghai Historical Relics Exhibition Hall was completed. In July 1991, it was renamed as Shanghai History Museum. 

The museum's exhibits span over 6,000 years of Shanghai's history, from its ancient origins as a small fishing village to its rise as a global metropolis. Key highlights include artifacts from the Neolithic era, relics from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and displays documenting Shanghai's transformation during the colonial period, the Republic of China era, and its modern development.

The museum also emphasizes Shanghai's role in China's economic, cultural, and political evolution, offering visitors a comprehensive understanding of the city's unique identity. Its architecture, blending colonial and modern styles, adds to the cultural significance of the institution.
