Ramoche Monastery lies in northern old Lhasa, not far from Jokhang Temple. It was founded in 641 under the supervision of Princess Wencheng, built around the same time as Jokhang Temple.

Facing eastward, the monastery covers an area of 4,000 square meters. It perfectly blends traditional Han and Tibetan architectural styles, with a three-story main hall, splendid golden roof and painted prayer corridors. The temple houses precious Buddhist statues and ancient cultural relics.

Though smaller in scale, it enjoys profound religious status and serves as an important sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism. It is also a timeless symbol of friendship and cultural integration between the Han and Tibetan peoples.
