The One Hundred and Eight Stupas, located on the west bank of the Yellow River in Qingtongxia, Ningxia, is a remarkable Buddhist site dating back to the Western Xia Dynasty. A national key cultural relic since 1988, it's one of China's largest and most neatly arranged Lamaist stupa groups.

Perched on a hillside, the 108 stupas form a perfect equilateral triangle across 12 rows, with each row having an odd number of stupas (1, 3, 3, 5...). The largest stupa (5m tall) sits at the apex, while the rest are smaller solid ones. Built of brick with white plaster, they feature octagonal bases and bead-shaped tops.The number 108 symbolizes overcoming 108 worldly worries in Buddhism. Overlooking the Yellow River, this ancient site blends stunning architecture with profound religious meaning, offering a glimpse into the Western Xia civilization and Silk Road culture.
