The Legend of Heshen & Prince Gong: Originally built for Heshen, the notoriously corrupt favorite minister of Emperor Qianlong, it later became the residence of Prince Gong, a powerful statesman in the late Qing Dynasty.

The Grand Theatre: This is the largest existing ancient theatre in Beijing. It is famed for its acoustics and intricate wood carvings. You might even catch a short Peking Opera performance here.

The "Fu" (Happiness) Character Stele: Hidden in the garden's "Blessing Mountain" (Jinsi Cave), this stone tablet inscribed with a single "Fu" character is believed to be Emperor Kangxi's calligraphy. It is said to bring good luck, and interestingly, the character incorporates elements that look like "multiple sons, multiple talents, and multiple fortunes".
