Located in the Hengduan Mountains, Laojun Mountain (Lijiang) is a crown jewel of the Three Parallel Rivers UNESCO World Heritage Site, hailed as "the Ancestor of Yunnan's Mountains". Its main peak, Golden Silk Jade Peak, soars to 4,515 meters.

Famous for China's largest high-altitude Danxia landform, its striking red sandstone cliffs (e.g., Thousand-Turtle Mountain) glow at sunrise.
