Located in Hangzhou's Qinghefang Historic District, Hu Qing Yu Tang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum is China's only national-level museum dedicated to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Founded in 1874 by the renowned "red-top merchant" Hu Xueyan, it was once as famous as Beijing's Tongrentang.

A masterpiece of late-Qing Jiangnan architecture, the complex features exquisite carved beams, painted rafters and a tranquil courtyard. Designated a national key cultural relic in 1988, it opened as a museum in 1991.

The museum houses over 2,900 relics, including ancient herbal specimens, imperial pharmaceutical tools like the famed "golden spade and silver pot",  and the iconic "No Deception" plaque embodying its integrity principle. It also preserves TCM craftsmanship, a UNESCO-listed intangible cultural heritage. A journey here reveals the profound wisdom of traditional Chinese healing arts.
