Located in Yuexiu District, the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees is one of Guangzhou's four great Buddhist temples, with a history spanning over 1,400 years. Built in 537 AD during the Southern Dynasties, it was originally named Baozhuangyan Temple.

Its current name came from Su Shi, a celebrated Northern Song poet. In 1100, he was inspired by six ancient banyan trees here and inscribed "Liurong"  (Six Banyans), giving the temple its present name.

The iconic Flower Pagoda, standing 57.6 meters tall, is the tallest Song‑Dynasty pagoda in Lingnan. With elegant, flower‑like eaves, it symbolizes the temple's timeless charm. A serene oasis amid the bustling city, it houses precious Buddhist relics and ancient statues. It's a perfect spot to experience Lingnan's Buddhist culture and profound history.
