Sacred Heart Cathedral, known locally as Shishi Cathedral (Shishi means Stone House) ,  is a stunning Gothic Revival gem in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. Built entirely of granite, it's one of only four all‑stone Gothic cathedrals in the world, often called the "Notre‑Dame of the Far East".

Constructed between 1863 and 1888, this monumental church was designed by French architects and built by Chinese craftsmen. It features twin spires soaring 58.5 meters, a magnificent rose window, and delicate stained glass. Blending European Gothic grandeur with subtle Lingnan details, it's a masterpiece of East‑West cultural fusion.

A national cultural relic, it remains an active Catholic church and a must‑visit landmark, embodying Guangzhou's rich history and global connections.
