Located in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, the Stilwell Museum is the only museum in China named after a foreign general. It was once the residence and headquarters of US Army General Joseph W. Stilwell (1883-1946) during WWII.

From 1942 to 1944, Stilwell served as Allied Chief of Staff in the China Theater and Commander-in-Chief of US Forces in the CBI Theater. He led the construction of the Stilwell Road and supported the "Flying Tigers", boosting China's resistance against Japanese aggression.

Founded in 1991, the museum features 1940s-style interiors, original furnishings, and precious exhibits like Stilwell's uniforms, manuscripts and military artifacts. It also displays stories of the Hump Route and Sino-US wartime cooperation. A vital relic of Chongqing's wartime history, it stands as a lasting testament to Sino-US friendship and joint efforts in WWII.
