Rising gracefully on the western bank of the Li River, Fubo Hill stands as a iconic landmark in downtown Guilin, famed for its unique "half on land, half in river" posture. It's said the hill subdues raging floods, hence its name; it also honors General Ma Yuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty, titled "Fubo" (Wave Tamer), who once stationed here.

A gem of the "Two Rivers and Four Lakes · Elephant Trunk Hill" 5A Scenic Area, it blends hills, waters, caves, stones and ancient relics. Highlights include the Pearl-Returning Cave with Tang-Song cliff carvings, the Sword-Testing Stone, and a 2,700-kg ancient iron bell.
