Located in Yuzhong District, Chongqing People's Grand Hall and Auditorium is a landmark architectural masterpiece and a national key cultural relic. Constructed from 1951 to 1954, it was designed by renowned architect Zhang Jiade.
Blending traditional Chinese palatial style (inspired by the Temple of Heaven) with modern Western structural techniques, it features a grand circular dome, green glazed tiles and red pillars. Covering 66,000 square meters, the 65-meter-high building has a 4,200-seat auditorium. Praised as "one of the top 10 classic Asian buildings of the 20th century", it stands as a symbol of Chongqing's history and cultural confidence.
