Situated in downtown Yinchuan, Chengtian Temple is a time-honored Buddhist temple built in the Western Xia Dynasty. Constructed to pray for national peace and royal blessings, it enjoys a profound historical status. The temple is famous for the Chengtiansi Tower inside and features classic ancient northwest architectural styles. Built over a thousand years ago, Chengtian Temple Pagoda stands  as West Tower in Yinchuan city, a precious ancient architecture relic of the Western Xia Dynasty. This elegant octagonal brick pagoda has thirteen stories with simple and solemn design. Its fine ancient craftsmanship is fully displayed in exquisite structure and steady posture.  

As an important cultural relic of Western Xia civilization, it bears rich religious and historical connotations. It was once a prestigious Buddhist shrine along the ancient Silk Road.
