Chengde Mountain Resort (the Imperial Summer Palace) is a large complex of imperial palaces and gardens situated in the Shuangqiao District of Chengde in northeastern Hebei Province. Built between 1703 and 1792 during the Qing Dynasty, it served as a summer retreat for emperors to escape the heat of Beijing.

Spanning over 5.6 square kilometers, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features a blend  architectural harmony of nature, Chinese landscaping principles and imperial grandeur with palaces, gardens, and temples set against a backdrop of mountains and valleys. The site has highlights like the Main Palace, the Lake Area, and the surrounding Outer Eight Temples, reflecting a mix of Han, Tibetan, and Mongolian influences.
