Bingling Temple and Thousand Maitreya Buddhas Caves is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a gem located at the Yellow River gorge of Yongjing County, Linxia Gansu on the ancient Silk Road.

Carved into steep red sandstone cliffs over 1,600 years ago (since the Western Qin Dynasty), it comprises over 200 caves, 800 statues and 1,000 sq. meters of murals. Its iconic 27-meter-tall Tang Dynasty Maitreya Buddha stands prominently on the cliff, while Cave 169 bears China's earliest dated cave inscription (420 AD).
